Today more and more people are working at least part of the time from home.  It's also a fact that many families have more than one computer in their home.  Modern offices have networks that connect individual computers so that they can share files, printers , and Internet access.  You can have the same power and convenience in your home.  Computer networks used to be exclusively wired networks, today's technology makes it easy and affordable to have wired and wireless capabilities all while keeping your data secure.  Most of the computer networks that we install consist of a mix of wired connections for desktop computers and other fixed location devices with wireless capabilities for portable devices like laptop computers and touch screen controllers.

  A computer network lets you share files, pictures, and music between computers.  Great for synchronizing your laptop and desktop computers.  It also lets all of your computers share high speed Internet access from services like cable modems or DSL.  A printer in one room can be shared with all of the other computers in the home.
More and more new devices are coming with a network connection and the ability to add more features if they are connected to a home network with Internet access.  New devices like movie and music servers and hard drive based digital video recorders (DVRs or TiVo's) use Internet connections to retrieve program guides and  video on demand services like Netflix, Apple TV, Amazon Video, and Vudu, stream the movie directly to your TV. 

 Switch - A device which connects all data connections in the home. This could be compared to an intersection with a stop light, where all the data in the home converges and is routed to its destination (be it another computer in the home, or the Internet router).

Router - A mediator between the Internet and multiple Internet-ready devices (such as computers, personal video recorders, and internet radio devices) in order to share an Internet connection.  Routers help connect your home to the Internet, while keeping it safe by providing built-in firewall protection".

Wireless Gateway - An access point between wireless devices (such as a laptop, PDA, or telephone) and the wired home network.


Cabling is a very important part of networking a business or home. We use CAT-5e or CAT-6 cables for all networks. This allows for a secure and stable connection. It contains extra sheilding to protect from outside interference.
